Wakefield Cabernet Sauvignon
A vibrant and complex wine that offers great density in its rich palate redolent in blackcurrant, coffee, black olive and earthy nuances with a structure and finish that is both long and refined.
Rich expressive flavours of cassis, mulberry and a hint of eucalypt. French oak maturation adds touches of dark chocolate, cedar and spice.
At release, the wine is a deep red with a vibrant purple hue.
The wine has an aroma of rich blackcurrant, subtle star anise spice and a touch of eucalypt. French oak maturation is also evident with subtle aromas of tobacco leaf, cedar and chocolate.
This is a wine of great intensity. It has distinctive blackcurrant and cassis fruit flavours. Subtle oak characters of cedar cigar box and spice are also evident. The tannins are fine and elegant – a hallmark of the varietal. The palate is well balanced, complex and fulfilling and lingers on the finish.
This wine can be enjoyed upon release but will reward careful cellaring up to and possibly beyond 2019.
