About the event

The Irish Gin & Tonic Fest is a 32 county celebration of Ireland’s finest gins. Now into its second year,  its running in 2017 from June 25th – July 1st.

The winning serve in 2016 was Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin and Elderflower Fever Tree Tonic from Davy Mac’s in Waterford.

The competition is open to any licensed bar, restaurant or hotel in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland. They can get involved by showcasing one of the many festival Irish gins served with a tonic of their choice for the week of the festival.

This year 130 venues will be featuring Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin as their Irish gin of choice for the duration of the festival.

The competition is won on public vote, and as soon as the festival starts, the public will be asked to vote for their favourite Irish Gin & Tonic of the festival by using the #IrishGnT on Twitter or by the Facebook page, www.facebook.com/GreatIrishBeverages

On last year's win P. J. Rigney, the creator of Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin , said the team are delighted: “This is a huge vote of confidence in Connaught’s first ever-gin, barely 8 weeks on the market. We were thrilled that 57 of the 117 participating venues across Ireland selected our gin for their signature serve.
